Gallery Cocoon

Gallery Cocoon exhibits the works of Izumi Ayaki. There are always about 10 Japanese-style paintings on display.

The gallery is just 50 meters from the shoreline, providing visitors with a perfect panoramic view of the Sea of Japan.

Both the Atelier and Gallery operate on a reservation-only system. We kindly ask you to contact us to make plans to visit in advice.

At Gallery Cocoon, you can appreciate the works of Izumi Ayaki, who has been exploring novel directions in art based on traditional techniques and materials.

Visitors can also see iwa-enogu (mineral pigments), the main material for Japanese-style painting, as well as its raw ore, while listening to a gallery talk by the artist.

A one-day hands-on workshop of Japanese-style painting is available on request, where you can create a painting to take home.
(A participation fee is charged. Workshops are currently suspended.)
